I was a faculty member at the University of Calgary, Alberta, Canada, for 19 years, where I specialized in teaching drawing, installation art, and print media. My artistic exploration delves into the effects of globalization on Canadian multiculturalism, the influence of consumerism on youth, and the rapid changes in our ecology today.
My journey into the world of art is deeply rooted in my early experiences growing up in the Vietnam War and political instability, until the age of 17. I was fortunate enough to pursue higher education at Emily Carr University of Art + Design, the University of Victoria, and the University of Alberta. Over the past 25 years, my work has been showcased nationally and internationally, often exploring culturally and politically charged themes. Art has become a vital platform for me to address significant social issues, while also serving as a form of support for my PTSD, hypermobility spectrum, and overall psychological well-being.
I am passionate about discovering the grace and open-mindedness that the world has to offer, especially through the lens of a developmental topographical view. As of 2024, I have established my studio in Montreal. This regenerated environment fosters my ongoing quest for spiritual growth, both in my art and personal life.
